CONTROVERSY : Pastor Bans Members From Wearing Weaves

A controversial pastor in Texas, U.S.A, is banning members from wearing weaves! Taking the whole "Come As You Are" concept a little bit far as he's attempting to ban weaves from his church. During an interview with newsmen, pastor A.J. Aamir of Resurrecting Faith in Waco, Texas told his staffers that weaves present a false image of one's self and are associated with women who have low self-esteem. He went on to issue a decree to the women of his congregation, asking them to not wear weaves. Why? He told the website, “Our black women are getting weaves trying to be something and someone they are not. Be real with yourself is all I’m saying." “Long hair don’t care. What kind of mess is that? I don’t want my members so focused on what’s on their heads and not in their heads. I lead a church where our members are struggling financially. I mean really struggling. Yet, a 26 year old mother in my church has a $300 weave on her head. No, i wont be quiet about this.” He concluded angrily.
