Anambra-governorship-election

As the residents of Anambra state go to the poll tomorrow, the eyes in the world will be glued to the state for very obvious reasons. This is a state that gave the world her foremost literary giant, Chinua Achebe, the legendary Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu and the Pan Africanist, Nnamdi Azikiwe.
Without mincing word, Anambra State election will be the parameter with which to gauge the conduct of 2015 election and just one body will decide how the pendulums of the election will swing– the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The candidates of this election are all heavyweights in their individual capacity. They all have what it takes to win the election, but one winner must emerge; and this is where INEC will decide if the true winner duly elected by the people will emerge.
There have been accusations and counter-accusations of INEC playing a ready script to favour a particular candidate. The electoral body must prove that it is not a pen in the hands of any writer to script the results.
This is a clash of titans and all the candidates transverses the length and breadth of the state, seeking for votes.
Transform Nigeria Citizens Initiative congratulate all the candidates for the way and manner they comported themselves throughout the campaign. The peaceful nature of Anambrarians was again brought to the fore yesterday as the famous commercial city of Nnewi became the busiest place in the world. All the leading contestants in Saturday’s guber elections descended on the town and campaigned within touching distances of each other- PDP at St Andrews, APGA at Nkwo Triangle and Labour at Anaedo Hall. No rancour or violence, just do your thing and let me do mine as Nnewi town was brought to a standstill.  Politicians from other geopolitical regions need to learn from the maturity of Anambra guber candidates.
This is an election of the people, not for INEC or the military. The security agencies should be professional and neutral and no one should rig the election under any guise of Federal might or power of incumbency.
Since the return of Democracy, this will be the first election that will be conducted in the absence the leader of the state and Ndigbo in general, Chief Odimegwu Ojukwu, Ikemba Nnewi; the politicians should therefore not stain his memory with any act capable of tarnishing the image of the state. We call on the people of the state to exercise their franchise and choose whom they want to lead them in the next four years. The days of sitting in beer parlours gnashing their teeth at the failure of government can only be put to an end by their active participation in the election process.
While the electorates exercise their civic responsibility, the military must not be used to intimidate them under the guise of keeping the environment secured; neither should the candidates move about with their reckless convoy in ways that threaten the peaceful conduct of the election. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members should not be dragged into the politics of rigging, just as INEC must not delay the payment of the ad-hoc staff in ways that will make them threaten to boycott the conduct of the election.
To reiterate: this election will be determined by the umpire, INEC, and they cannot afford to fail Nigerians at this crucial moment. We have positioned our observers and journalists in all communities to bring first-hand information to us and we will not hesitate to tender such in court if the election is marred by fraud and irregularities. The days of bringing ballot boxes and papers to polling booth should not be experienced in this election, as the electoral body had all the time in the world to prepare for this election.
Anambra State that prides herself as the light of the nation must show to the nation the way to go by coming out en masse to vote for the candidate of their choice. Any act to sabotage this election through any means will not augur well for the image of the presidency and it is on this note that we call on the President, who is the father of all the candidates to allow INEC do their job freely, without interference in the spirit of statesmanship.
With the full knowledge that two people cannot govern a state, we urge all aspirants to refrain from making any inflammatory statement is capable of overheating the polity during and after the election period. They should adopt the spirit of sportsmanship and congratulate the true winner, when the election is deemed free and fair. The Journalists who will be covering the elections should also refrain from publishing results when INEC has not announced so; as well as online media owners who may be tempted to report results from polling units, as given to them by their reporters monitoring the election.
As Anambra goes to poll, let all hands be on deck to ensure that the vote counted belong to one man; one woman.
One man, one vote that is our plea…

No Poor Man Must Get Close To me + I Have Missed Nothing About Timaya- Empress Njamah

Hahaha it's so funny how Empress Njamah answered some questions in this new interview with Showbizplus, but then, it's her interview. So enjoy the ones that concerns us here lol;

So you are saying you can settle for any man whether rich or poor
I’m not going to tell you what I want. But you get into an expensive shop to pick up something, because you can afford it, you see something you can afford then you buy it but if you cannot afford it, take a walk.  The goods are for someone that can afford it, that’s the best I can tell you. I will not settle for less my sister and that’s the truth. People come and tell you all sort of lies and want to praise themselves and say “I can marry a poor man” the poor man nor know wetin him see, abeg! I dey tell una say I am a real person, we all have been through tough times, we all have paid our dues one way or the other. So no poor man must get close to me. Those who know the worth, pay the dues.
What do you miss most about Timaya?
That’s a no-go question to answer. I don’t know why you want to take back the hands of the clock to five years ago.  Do you still remember things that happened five years ago? Well, let me ask my brother (John Njamah) to help me with the answers because I actually don’t know what to say.

But if you insist, Empress has missed nothing, absolutely nothing about Timaya.

The robber, who gave his name as Romeo

A man believed to be in his late thirties was lynched at Ashaiman New Town yesterday after he attempted to rob an MTN sales point at gunpoint. He was in the company of two others during the robbery operation but he was not lucky, as he was grabbed by an angry mob and subsequently beaten and set on fire.

The robber, who gave his name as Romeo, claimed to be a resident of Kasoa Barrier in the Central Region. A Nigerian gang member who resides at Ashaiman Tulaku barrier, according to the deceased, gave information about the sales point.
ON FIRE! The suspected robber, Romeo
A security man, sales personnel and a customer were held hostage by the robbers at the sales point, which had recently experienced two separate robberies, with the robbers taking away thousands of Ghana Cedis.
The robbers demanded money and other valuables, while one waited in a blue-black Toyota Corolla saloon car in front of the sales point, after they had entered the place at about 8:30am under the pretext of transacting business.
Linda Asamoah, a sales attendant, was in the inner chamber of the sales point which had been divided into two with glass. This prevented the robbers from entering where the money was being kept.
Linda made a quick phone call to a friend nearby who promptly raised the alarm which attracted the crowd.
The driver of the get-away car, sensing danger, drove off, leaving his colleagues in the office block, upon hearing the alarm. However, one of the robbers managed to jump on top of the bonnet of the vehicle and fled with the driver.
While escaping, the driver fired shots, with a bullet hitting a glass door of another shop, Maranatha Photo and Barbering Salon, near the scene.
Luck however eluded Romeo, who was not able to catch up quickly with the vehicle, as he was pursued by the mob after he took to his heels from the sales point until he was apprehended.
Petrol Blaze
He was subjected to severe beatings with clubs, metals, golf bats and cement blocks among other implements before finally being set ablaze and left to burn in the middle of the street. Romeo, however, managed to roll over his body until the fire went out while bleeding profusely, mostly from his head.
The incident attracted hundreds of persons who thronged the scene to either unleash their anger on the suspect or catch a glimpse of the deceased after he was killed.
Linda Asamoah, the sales girl, narrated to DAILY GUIDE: “I was at the office when one robber came that he wanted to receive mobile money transfer and I told him the network was down so he should go and return later.”
According to her, another armed robber came to join his colleague, pulled out a pistol and quickly demanded money and other items.
On his part, Romeo jumped over the counter after they had locked themselves in one of the glass apartments.
She further narrated: “It was when he was trying to open the glass door to where we kept the money that I called a friend who shouted ‘thief, thief’ before the area boys came around.”
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emmanuel Tetteh Yarkah confirmed the incident to us, and added that the police arrived to find the lifeless body of the suspected robber in a pool of blood.
According to him, the corpse had been conveyed to the Police Hospital morgue in Accra for possible identification, further investigations and autopsy.
He noted that upon preliminary investigations, the police retrieved a pistol and live ammunition in a bag which was abandoned on the street by the deceased while he was running away from the fuming mob.
Ashaiman Newtown and its environs are under frequent siege by armed robbers, putting the area youth under constant alert.

Nigerian Designer 'Attacks' Genevieve, Omotola and Rukky Sanda

Nigerian Designer, Emmy Collins who is known for being so outspoken is at it again, this time he blasted Nollywood actresses, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Rukky Sanda.
Here's what he wrote yesterday about Rukky Sanda, Omotola and Genevieve Nnaji.
My dear late mum had always feared that my big mouth would put me in trouble. There must be something in my DNA that doesn’t allow me to ignore toxic issues regardless of how much I try.
So, if you are wondering why I couldn`t be just as “SELFISH” as most of the bloggers
and blog only about topics that will generate goodwill towards me from the readers, well, quit wondering as the answer is simply because I just can`t help myself, lolll.
I have read about people basically insinuating that I am daft because I don’t use my blogging medium to make money. Well in Igbo we have a saying that goes “agbacha oso aguo mile”(time shall tell).
Now let’s delve straight into the images and other stuff that transpired.
Rukky Sanda and bréasts

Kaiiii, Rukky never ceases to pull one on me. I mean classy isn`t exactly the accurate word to describe my homegurl Rukky but she surpassed herself on this one.
There seems to be a calculated attempt by some of these razz chics to keep themselves constantly in the news. I probably would do the same to divert attention if my movies stink to high heaven.
Anyway, I can honestly tell you guys for free that even “women of the night” that hang around the Streets of VI and Ikeja will shy away from displaying their market in this manner.

Omotola aka Omosexy
Wowwww, I didn`t realise this big bird outfit comes in black/grey as well.
This is a clear indication that Omotola has the intention of making this trendy but I believe she is fighting a lost battle.
Can someone please tell us who styles this lady? I promise to post her stylist’s details so that her fans will know where to channel their hate mails instead of sending to me because all I`m doing is analysing images.
I didn`t put her in any of her hideous outfits.
This is one lady who could have been fashionably outstanding only if she could bother to wear the right outfit. What is that synthetic leather strap on her back for?
I wouldn`t be surprised to see a few animal rights activists behind her with placards rallying against the amount of feathers Omotola has on and chanting “we want our feathers back now” lol.
Omotola might as well trademark the big birdyyyy look nah make everyone comot hand as she has officially made it hers now.

Genevieve Nnaji
A reader called me out for not making any comment on Genevieve`s weight gain but I was totally oblivious to it.
However, with this afo (belly) wey dey shoot out here, I hereby raise my two hands up; yup, I goofed on that one.
Weight gain? This is somewhere Genevieve doesn`t want to go because she is petite and the moment she loses her figure, we will be left with an image of a tele-tubby.
Nne, Uche gi dikwa ya o (Make ur head correct o). The design and fit seems classy but that belly has rubbished everything.

Photo: Two Female Students Stripped For Theft!

Screen Shot 2013-11-12 at 1.39.40 PM Here is another typical case of how Nigerian like taking laws into their own hands. it is almost a daily occurrence a very few make it to the media.
But Nigerian are not totally to be blamed as their lack of trust in the Government expresses its self in this incident.
Not withstanding, Nigerians must be enlightened on the right procedure of bringing an alleged criminal to book instead of taking laws into their hands. Nigerians must be conscious of the negative effect of jungle justice on the image of this country.
Police in Eldoret early this morning rescued two female MOi university students from an angry mob after they had str1pped them for allegedly drugging a resident and were plotting to steal from his house. The drama that ensued brought business in that part of Langas to a standstill as the n*ked women were paraded in public. The two were later taken to the Langas police station.

Married Actress Caught With Man Inside Hotel Room In Lagos

Married Actress Caught With Man Inside Hotel Room In Lagos
This is a total shame!!! Few months after a Nollywood actor's wife was caught in a raunchy BBM exchange scandal with a man believed to be a South-South governor, another married actress has been caught red handed in a more shameful act in Lagos.
A lady who know her very well spotted her with a businessman inside the bar of a local hotel and became a bit suspicious as the man was not her husband. The lady paid one of the guys in the local hotel to plant a camera in the room they booked.
We hear that the girl, who is from Kogi State, has been blackmailing the actress and collecting money from she and her secret lover. The lady has a complete video of

NewsRescue- Below is a statement by the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), regarding the designation of Boko Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. State Department.
“Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on reports that the State Department will formally designate the Nigeria-based terrorist organization, Boko Haram, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization:
“Boko Haram – which translates into ‘education is prohibited’ – is another example of how the threat from al-Qaeda is spreading. For years, the ‘Nigerian Taliban’ has been working to impose its strict ways in the country’s Muslim north. Once believed to be strictly local, its fighters are increasingly linking up with other al-Qaeda linked groups in the region. The United States has a security interest in seeing a stable Nigeria. Designation as a Foreign Terrorist Organization will allow U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies the necessary authority to freeze Boko Haram’s assets and to stop entities providing support to the organization.”

Note: Royce is the former Chairman of the Africa Subcommittee and former Chairman of the Terrorism Subcommittee.”
